PGA Award Honors Island Golf Pro
St. Simons Island GA (December 2011) The King and Prince Golf Course on St. Simons Island is honored to have Mr. Rick Mattox, one of America’s most respected golfers, leading their club for nearly 23 years. Mattox, General Manager and Head Professional, has been chosen to receive the 2011 Bill Strasbaugh Award, presented to PGA members who have shown outstanding integrity, commitment to mentoring PGA Professionals and who have made a significant impact on the careers of others.
The PGA Georgia Section also considers the member’s service to the Association and involvement in community and charitable activities. Announced by Michael A. Paull, Executive Director of the PGA Georgia Section, Mattox will be honored at the fifth annual Special Awards Banquet on February 25, 2012 at Turner Field in Atlanta.
“I am very humbled and honored to be selected for the Bill Strausbaugh Award by my fellow Professionals in the Georgia Section. I was privileged to have attended a seminar presented by Mr. Strausbaugh in the first PGA Business School that I attended.
