Spring Lake Dining & Shopping

Spring Lake Dining & Shopping

THE DINING SCENE

Whether indulging in fabulous dinner fare or day tripping for fun & food, restaurants in Spring Lake and the surrounding towns are as dazzling as a galaxy of stars…from star chefs to award-winning waterfront cafes. The culinary scene is dancing to a new beat, keying in on local seafood, tantalizing themed ethnic menus, classical cuisine and trendy gourmet…all within a short drive from Spring Lake.

It’s a city surrounded by water that boasts great watering holes and bars, midway between two dining meccas – Manhattan and Philadelphia. We’re always cooking up something tasty in an intimate dining room, waterfront terrace, brick courtyard or rustic retreat. For those who take lunch and dinner seriously or those out for casual neighborhood ‘eats’, going to a restaurant isn’t something to do before you go out; it’s why you go out.

Dining at the Shore is ‘serious pleasure’. A whole new generation of exciting young chefs have opened some of the area’s best and most innovative restaurants while classic dining establishments consistently offer famous dishes that haven’t changed in decades!

SHOPPING is SERIOUS!

There are best places to go to buy a party or cute summer dress - even a bathing suit in the winter in Spring Lake…closet-augmenting delights up and down historic Third Avenue. From kitchen gear and stationery to art and home furnishings, shopping is one of Spring Lake’s greatest charms. There are rows of 65+ shops housing an eclectic potpourri of fabulous men’s & ladies apparel, gifts for the home and gifts for the kids, confectioners, fine wine, dance wear and antiques-to-boutiques. Clusters of specialty shops are walkable with convenient free parking (no parking meters or stoplights anywhere in town)!

P.S. The Changing Times on Third Avenue (compiled by Bonnie DuBois) is a 7-block walking tour that transports you from the late 1880’s up to today. The Spring Lake Historical Society has assembled a collection of photographs and personal accounts that brings Third Avenue to life…Look for the famous clock on the corner of Third and Morris that was erected to commemorate the 100th birthday of Spring Lake in 1992. Beneath the plaque, there is a time capsule which contains memorabilia of 1992 Spring Lake, a video of the town and pictures drawn by the town’s school children which will be opened in 2042. This self-guided tour is on the www.springlake.org website.
