First Artisan Award of Excellence Goes to....
Jarrett Motes – owner of American Plastering
Ponte Vedra Beach (October 2008) Artisan Homes, a builder promoting "olde world craftsmanship" and innovation, is recognizing and rewarding the most creative "artisans” in the building Industry with their "Award for Excellence". This award encourages and publicly acknowledges the creative excellence of individuals and organizations whose accomplishments exceed the expected.
Artisan Homes partners Wayne Montgomery and Carey Bettis are presenting their first Award of Excellence to Jarrett Motes, humorously known by many in the Northeast Florida area as ‘the stucco monkey’. According to Bettis “Motes’ interior & exterior plastering and stone work is ‘second to none’. The first home (Villa Palencia) where we enlisted Motte’s talent is in the St. Augustine community of Palencia; it is reminiscent of an old villa. He brought drama, romance and true artisanship to our custom home”.
Motes, a native of Palatka, Florida, believes that one should look at a house ‘with your soul’, as if Mother Nature crafted it. From the home’s wine cellar, tucked away and exuding a centuries-old richness to the entire exterior which hints at Tuscan elegance with its railings, balusters, stone and aged stucco, Motes has created a masterpiece which earned him the Artisan Award of Excellence.
