Girls in the Garden - Inn on Charlotte

GIRLS IN THE GARDEN
Inn on Charlotte Presents Container Gardening ‘101’

St. Augustine, Fl (April 2009) There are few things more satisfying than watching miniature herbs and florals that you have planted slowly spring from the soil to become colorful nourishing food for the people you love. Even the smallest patio, back porch or balcony can provide ample room for a beautiful and fruitful garden.

Lynne Fairfield, owner of Inn on Charlotte in historic St. Augustine, presents Container Gardening ‘101’ to her guests beginning April 1st , along with tips, tricks and the art of container gardening to guests who want to develop their own ‘green thumb’. A Master Gardener with a horticultural degree (in addition to being an award-winning inn owner), Fairfield has created a unique guest experience that will inspire even those with a limited amount of space for gardening.

Fairfield states “My class shows guests how to work with a limited amount of space, necessary garden supplies, potting mixes, various herbs and edible flowers…similar to the ones I use to prepare our sumptuous morning breakfasts at the Inn. Container gardens allow you to have a portable garden that can be easily moved; pots and unique containers can be brought inside as soon as the weather turns cold for a fresh, year round supply of flowers, vegetables, and herbs.”
