Dating as far back as 1913, when Tampa folks came by boat to Anna Maria
Island’s bay side, the ‘Pavilion’ became The Sandbar in 1979 when Ed Chiles,
son of the late Governor ‘Walkin’ Lawton Chiles, purchased it. History, great
food, fine spirits and polite service!

10:30am Hop on the Trolley to St. Armands Circle
For only 75 cents, Longboat Key visitors can hop aboard an open air trolley that
runs the length of the Key to famous St. Armands Circle. Plan to spend the next
few hours of ‘magic’ and then return to Sandpiper Inn.
11:15am Circus Sarasota – More than a Circus
Meet Dolly Jacobs, acclaimed world-premier aerialist, on the Ring of Fame in the
center of St. Armands Circle for a personal glimpse into the history and lore of
‘The Circus’ greats. She will surprise and delight us with a live presentation from
Circus Sarasota’s leading performers.

Nobody could enchant us on the water better than Jimmy Seaton, giving us a
glimpse of Longboat Key ‘from the outside in’. With his ‘up close & personal’ relationships knowing the ‘who’s who’ of the area, settle back on the 29’ cabin
Cruiser Liquid Limousine and listen to his accounts and anecdotes. He’s a U.S.
Coast Guard Licensed Master Captain who keeps people on the move with stretch limo’s and celebrity jet charters.
8:00pm The Famous ‘Euphemia Haye’ ~ Climb to the Haye Loft
Chef Ray Arpke is the culinary inspiration of Euphemia Haye, recognized as one of Florida’s premier restaurants since opening in 1975. Your hosts are Euphemia Haye’s owners D’Arcy and Ray Arpke and Longboat Key’s Tom Aposporos, President of the Chamber of Commerce.
