SKIRT! August, 2009 ~ 24/7 with Valerie Shubert

24/7 with... 24/7 with Valerie Shubert - Co-owner Cellar 6, St. Augustine
By Sara Conrad, Friday, August, 14, 2009

I love: My family.

My favorite possession: My iPhone.

My hometown: Jacksonville.

Words I live by: “It ain’t easy being Val.”

I can’t live without: My kids.

I am most proud of: Starting a new business in today’s economy.

I’m inspired by: My dad.

What keeps me awake at night: My son’s autism.

If I could be totally wild, I would: Hop a plane and go to the Caribbean with my girlfriends.

If I could do it all over again: I would have gone to an out-of-state college for at least one semester.

The food I could eat every day: Cruiser’s cheese fries with Ranch dressing.

If I were a superheroine, I would be: Wonder Woman

The most important thing I ever lost: That last 10 pounds.

My best friend says I am: Loyal.

I still can’t get the hang of: Working at night and being away from my family.

I wish I’d known: Never judge a book by its cover. People go through so much in their life and you don’t know what their situation might be. As young people we are much quicker to make assumptions before we know the truth.

I’d like to learn to: Surf.

Something most people don’t know about me: Even though I seem to be serious at times, I can be pretty sensitive.

My mother always said: Do the best with what you have.

The worst idea I’ve ever had: Having a birthday party for 20 2-year-olds at my house!

The smartest woman I know: My mom.

What are you most vain about? Weight.

Early bird or night owl? Night owl.
