Casa Marina Hotel #1 Best Sunday Brunch in Jacksonville

For the 2nd year, the Casa Marina Hotel & Restaurant has won FOLIO Magazine’s ‘The Best Sunday Brunch’ award. Chef Aaron Webb spins brunch favorites into his New Beach Cuisine style, featuring Eggs Benedict on Fried Green Tomato with Sweet Chile Hollandaise, Jamaican Jerk Whole Roasted Salmon with Mango Chutney, two succulent meat carvings, Dungeness crab and omelettes made-to-order, in addition to the freshest fruits, breads and lavish dessert presentation.

Recognized in 2005 by the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of the Historic Hotels of America, The Casa Marina Hotel also offers guests 23 bedrooms and parlor suites, individually and dramatically decorated to represent the distinctive and changing eras of its dazzling history. Its salon-inspired restaurant is reminiscent of oceanfront fine dining anywhere in the world. Both the Hotel and Restaurant bring a feeling of classic, timeless glamour from the 1920’s to Jacksonville Beach, a blend of captivating history, natural beauty and sophisticated culture.

Since the Casa Marina opened its doors onto an expanse of the Jacksonville beaches in 1924, when every postcard of the era announced ‘World’s Finest Beach’, it has remained a fascinating landmark of Florida history ever since. There have been many forgotten moments in the vast drama of the 1920’s, but the mystery of the Casa is that she must have seen it all.

According to the National Trust “History is in our hands. This is a building worth saving and is important to us as a nation. Our historic properties link us with our past and help us understand who we are.” In the late 1940’s, leaders of the growing American preservation movement recognized a need for a national organization to provide support and encouragement for grassroots preservation efforts. President Harry S. Truman signed legislation creating the National Trust on October 26, 1949.
